StartLogic is a brother to dot5 and ipowerweb, three companies all owned by Endurance International Group.  Endurance also owns companies like HostGator and BlueHost. While all offer good services, StartLogic boasts robust functionality and three basic pricing plans, offering widely varied appeal to any user. Starting with a small 5GB of disc space, five e-mail accounts and 600GB of monthly bandwidth. The bigger packages increase the level of service available to you coupled with unlimited disk space and bandwidth.

Startlogic offers large amounts of bandwidth and space to customers and, for a shared host, their offerings are quite competitive! If you start using too much bandwidth on a continual basis, though, they will force you to move to a dedicated server option. Normally, the smaller options are sufficient in servicing all peoples’ needs.

One of the best features of StartLogic is the claimed and proven uptime of 99.99%. Rarely do companies actually hit that mark, although they all claim it. Their most popular package starts at $5.95 per month and, if you take the features into account, its still a pretty good deal! A cheaper option of $4.50 is also available.

Usability seems to be a major concern among all users. Issues stem from StartLogic’s control panel and the fact that they use vDeck, a control panel that is not well known among users and is much more complex than other control panels that have become popular in the hosting industry.

Fortunately, StartLogic offers decent support and help options. The control panel does, however, contain tutorials and user guides to guide you step-by-step. A 24/7 support team is available via telephone, email or live chat. The customer service reps seem a little busy though which makes me wonder about the amount of problems with which they have their hands full. Signing up is extremely complicated, unfortunately, and billing is a problem. Reports have surfaced that people are still billed after cancellation of their services. Who wants that?  Reports have mentioned that their support is mostly outsourced to India.

A, drag and drop builder is included in their Pro package.  Secure website protection, personalized email and $200 free marketing credit is included.

Do not let the gimmick fool you too much.  The initial price is cheap but after it renews it almost doubles. Oh, and remember that VAT is not added yet either! That could come as quite the shock if you are not prepared.  Their service is not the best and you would think, because of the fact that they are owned by a company that owns so many other hosting companies, that they would have customer services down. Unfortunately, it looks like they do not.  The marketing package included offers a bit more than other companies and the bandwidth and uptimes are good.

All-in-all not the best hosting company available, but they do provide a service that seems to be reliable. If you are willing to pay and you are a slightly more advanced user, this might be the service for you!
